I've Been Training for HubSpot.tv Since 1991

Posted by Karen Rubin on Wed, Jul 01, 2009 @ 09:28 AM

It's true, for years my friends and I spent our Saturdays doing talk shows in front of the video camera. I was always responsible for the introduction and saying the date was a requirement of my mothers. When the opportunity came to do it at HubSpot, I knew I was prepared and since my teeth had been controlled by years of braces, I jumped at the opportunity. Enjoy!

The opener is almost identical from 1991, that's amazing. It works though. Was there ever a time that you didn't want to inform the world? It seemed pretty natural in this video.

We had been making videos for so long, the intro was standard by this point. When we started HubSpot.TV, I told Mike I had it covered.

My parents tell me that I have always been very comfortable in front of the camera and performing. I am not sure about informing the world, but performing I have always enjoyed.

Hahahaha. Good Moning Show. Things like this make me afraid to digitize my parents' old home movies.

"Rest assured, I was on the Internet within minutes, registering thegoodmoningshow.com throughout the world."

Very nice parallels between then and now. Were you inspired by particular TV shows and hosts? (Norville / Couric?)

Are we still in the commercial break?

Thanks for your comments folks!

Nicholas, my spelling hasn't improved since the days of the "Good Moning Show" that is for sure!

Matthew, I have always joked about wanting to be the next Katie Couric, but that's mostly because I was working with NBC when she left the Today show and they brought in Meridith Vera - I always thought the made a mistake and should have asked me to do the show! (HAHAHA)

Elio, the commercial is priceless, it's a remake of the old Kit Kat commercials. Alas it had one of my near and dear friends from childhood and I don't think it's fair to put others childhood videos on the internet!
